These engineer designed walkways offer a turnkey solution to roof access issues. Roof Grip is suitable for installation on roof pitches of less than 10°. Similarly, Roof Step takes care of steeper roof pitches.
Special mounting brackets ensure the integrity of the roof sheet is maintained, in other words ROOF GRIP extends the life cycle of your roof sheet installation.
The all aluminium product has a design life in excess of 20 years! The use of Ampligrip expanded aluminium floor grating makes this achievable.
When a walkway is required to run along the length of a roof it is most likely to lie across the roof sheet ridges. The fixing brackets elevate the walkway above the roof sheet and is either clamped or bonded at a space determined by the spacing of the roof sheet ridges.
This is the simplest and most common installation of access walkways.
When a walkway is required to run up the slope of a roof it is most likely to lie along (in line with) the roof sheet ridges. The fixing bracket elevates the walkway above the roof sheet and is either clamped or bonded. The bracket spacing normally matches that used across the ridge but is can be increased to a maximum of 850mm.
Roof Grip Access Walkways are installed so that they are elevated above the roof sheet surface. This ensures that no rubbing takes place that could damage the roof sheet integrity.
The elevated bracket consists of a ridge fixing, either clamped or bonded, a horizontal bearer bar to carry the walkway and top hat clips to hold the walkway in position.
These brackets are used either across or along the roof sheet ridge.
A special mention is to be made of Bonded Brackets. These can also be elevated brackets that are fitted to roof sheet profiles that do not lend themselves to having a clamp bracket fitted, normally pierced fixing roof sheets.
Bonded brackets still have a bearer bar to elevate the walkway and top hat clips to hold the walkway in place.
